New Chinese Intel Atom-based MID Released by Soyea

Available in black or white look and costing about $880 in China, the new released Mobile Internet Device Z5 is a Chinese company’s creation. Soyea has launched this 1.2GHz Intel Atom-based device with 1GB of built-in RAM. The handset has an 8GB solid state drive containing both Linux and Windows XP operating systems. Its memory can be expanded through the use of a microSD card, a dedicated slot being available for this purpose. Media devices such as a built-in webcam and stereo speakers are also provided. There is also a mini USB port, as well as a VGA port.

Connectivity is possible through Wi-Fi connection or a 3G module allowing China Telecom access. There is also Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR.

Soyea’s Z5 sports a 5-inch (800×480) resistive touchscreen.
