As the Japanese financial newspaper Nikkei reports, Nintendo is ready to launch an updated DSi sporting a 4-inch display, which means the current device’s screen will be exceeded by three quarters of an inch. Nintendo pretends to make this improvement as a consequence of the users’ feedback, taking into consideration their complaints regarding problems with using a smaller size.
The widely known AceKard company has developed a fully functional DSi flashcard. This allows loading for the so called “homebrew code” to the DSi. Homebrew actually refers to user developed applications. These can run on the specified gaming system. The company also claims that all of the new DSi features are accessible and provide access to a whole new class of DSi applications.
The new DSi is intended to hit the Japanese market this year at a price of ¥18,900 (almost $205). No information is available on Nintendo’s intentions of bringing its new creation to the American market.
