The ReNu modular solar charger has been recently introduced by Regen. ReNu will charge its built-in battery using the solar light and then will power a number of optional bases. Featuring a modular design, the battery takes nine hours for complete charging in direct outdoor sunlight, or twenty hours indoor and in direct sunlight. The ReNu ‘s panel can be plugged into a speaker dock for iPhones or iPods, iPod charging base, a LED desk lamp add-on or even a conventional wall socket for power if there is enough indoor light.

The iPod dock is provided with a USB port that lets users synchronize the iPhone or iPod with their PCs. An integrated lithium ion battery is supposed to fully charge an iPhone or an iPod twice.

The ReNu will be ready to be shipped in February at a price of $199. A Sound Dock sold separately is $150 and the LED light and iPod dock will be $89 each. A combination of iPod dock and ReNu panel will cost $249.
