Nokia has already received a high number of orders for its Booklet 3G notebook, which makes almost sure the launch of a second model during next year, according to sources as Economic Daily News sayings.
The Booklet 3G is Nokia’s first netbook and is HSPA 3G-based for providers such as AT&T and other international carriers. A 16-cell battery pack allows an up to 12 hours of runtime even though with wireless off. Booklet 3G is also one of the first Windows 7 netbooks. Its price in the United States is $599 contract-free or $299 on contract.
Nokia’s contractor, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Compal, seems to work hard to fulfil requirements for Booklet 3G Atom-based devices and is supposed to receive orders for a new 2010 version of the netbook. There are no details of the new netbook and nobody could say if it will be a totally new configuration or will be only an upgrade of the first model.
