The Equinox flip phone will begin to ship to wireless provider T-Mobile on October 28th. As the technical specifications have already revealed, the phone includes 3G network support and a built-in GPS sensor. A special pulsating lightning effect warns the user when a call or a message is coming in and its color is customizable for each specific caller. Available colors are amber, amethyst, beryl, diamond and sapphire and there are also matching wallpaper themes.
The screen is a 2.2-inch one with a 240×320-pixel resolution. The Equinox has a M2 memory card slot for up to 8 GB of optional removable memory. A 3.2-megapixel camera with digital zoom, video capture and playback can shoot video and a special feature enables users to quickly upload the video to YouTube. There is also support for stereo Bluetooth connections and it has a built-in FM radio tuner. Incoming calls can be rejected or made silent by using hand gestures.
Shipping will begin exclusively at T-Mobile stores and online on October 28th. The Sony Ericsson Equinox will be available for $49.99 with a two-year service agreement and mail-in-rebate.
