It is already known that Ericsson and Samsung are now partners. As part of this partnership, Samsung has announced the launch of the new Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4G standard-compatible USB modem. The new modem, released under the name of Samsung GT-B3710 will be available for sale, at the time being, through the Telia Sonera provider, starting 2010, in Norway and Sweden. It is said to offer large speeds: 150Mbps for download and 50Mbps for upload. This will be a great evolution, comparing to the 42Mbps download speed and 12Mbps upload speed, offered by still unlaunched HSPA 3G+ networks.
The two companies expect the bandwidth to be enough for mobile TV, multiplayer gaming and bandwidth-intensive work. The price and exact release date for the new GT-B3710 are still unknown.
