Shipping already began for the ThinkPad SL series of notebooks. With the October 22nd release of Microsoft’s Windows 7, Lenovo has announced the availability of two new Windows 7 laptops – the ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 – both of them particularly geared toward businesses and with limited IT resources.

The SL410 has a 14-inch LED-backlit LCD display, while the SL510 has a 15.6-inch 16:9 high-definition screen. Both of them have Intel Core 2 Duo processors.

Intel’s X4500 graphics processor supports video functions, RAM is up to 8GB and hard drive space is up to 500GB. Other features are DVD drives, six-cell batteries and a multi-touch trackpad.

There are options for 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth connectivity. The SL series supporting Windows 7, the touch pads feature multitouch, for two-finger scrolling, expanding and minimizing screen views.

Vibrant View and anti-glare technology, as well as HDMI and VGA output for high-definition and standard displays are present.

The SL models are among Lenovo’s “greenest,” being the first ThinkPads using post-consumer recycled materials. They are also EPEAT Gold and Energy Star 5.0 compliant.

The ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 weigh 5.1lbs and 5.6lbs respectively, and are already available, with prices starting at $529.
