Recently present in an FCC (Federal Communications Commission) filing, the new computer-in-a-keyboard by ASUS is closer and closer to reality.

The ASUS Eee Keyboard, model EK 1542, is a fully functional PC in the form of a keyboard with a 5-inch 800×400 pixel touch panel and a stylus.

It will run Windows XP Home edition on a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU and a Broadcom AV-VD905 video processor.

The keyboard will have 1GB of memory, a 16 GB or 32 GB solid state drive, built-in Wi-Fi, gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth connectivity.

Users will have the possibility to connect to larger external displays via HDMI or VGA outputs, as well as via the external wireless Ultra Wide Band (UWB) antenna. The Ultra Wide Band antenna and receiver will enable wireless connection to devices within a five to ten meter range and can send 720 pixel videos to your TV.

There is neither price nor release date information for the ASUS Eee Keyboard until now.
