Research in Motion apparently slipped some in formation this Sunday on the upcoming BlackBerry 9900. Details revealed a new nick-name, “Mr. T” and the scheduled full-size slide-out keyboard that sits underneath a full touchscreen. Some buttons would be moved onscreen to save pace. Other than this, details are scarce. The 9900 was said to launch this fall but with the BlackBerry Storm 9550 as the only touchscreen device known to be shipping in the timeframe, it seems likely that the product will not be shipped until 2010.
The Storm 9500 has been only a modest success for Verizon despite early heavy marketing.Price tags have gone down to just $50 for at least a month ahead of a repalcement. This makes its direct sequel and the 9900 particularly important for RIM.
