At the Developer Forum keynote, Intel Company presented a new smartphone software of the company entitled Moblin Linux. The Moblin Linux variant 2.1 is redesigned as to enhance the quality of the finger-friendly interface input and also adds a new interface that enables users to switch the applications in a panel manner, just like the system used by the web operating system of the Palm. Moblin Linux 2.1 software still comprises some of the specifics which endowed its predecessor, the Moblin Linux 2.0, such as specific media player ability and a complete browser for the Internet.

Speculations state that Moblin Linux 2.1 may pave the path for smartphones manufactured by Intel. Even though the organization worked with Nokia in the oFono, the software which is open sources was not exactly designed for x86 processors. Moreover, not taking into account Intel`s new software`s utilities, the organization is also rumored to launch its own smartphone product line sometime next year when the company`s Atom processors will be designed by a 32 nanometer development process which is prone to decrease their size and also make the powerful enough so as to support the energy consumption of the smartphones. However, it seems that Intel did not encounter so much success on the market for smaller devices than the mobile Internet ones. Things may remain like this even if the company will use the upcoming Pine Tail, a 45 nanometer Atom software. A small number of the Intel`s small in size gadgets were endowed with the Moblin Linux and the organization`s small devices rarely made it on the market.
