Xbox 360 802.11n Adapter Acknowledged by Microsoft

MondoXbox is an Italian website stated that there was an ad presenting an Xbox360 gaming console with a 802.11n adapter in the Gears of War 2, the Game of the Year Edition pack. Earlier speculations also stated that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) took a closer look at the 802.11n adapter. Microsoft confirmed to Joystiq that this type of adapter actually exists and the organization is busy with the 802.11n adapter`s development.

However, the company did not give further details regarding the new device except of the fact that its new gadget will enable customers to connect from their home to the network by using the highest N technology which is cable free. Nonetheless, Microsoft did not state anything about the launching of the 802.11n adapter and its purchasing price.

The organization sees the 802.11n adapter as a new choice for the clients, which may mean that the new gadget will be available together with the Wi-Fi adapter and would not replace it. Microsoft also said that further information will be disclosed pretty soon and advised those interested to watch the news.
