Pliant Technology, the almost newly founded company, states that the 3.5-inch enterprise solid-state drive developed by the organization is able to run at speeds of almost 500 megabytes per second and can write the data at a speed of 320 megabytes per second. In day to day terms these feature symbolize the fact that Pliant`s new gadget can read and transcribe all the data comprised by a two terabyte drive in approximately one hour!!!
Computer World stated that Pliant Technology announced that the 3.5-inch SSD can function continuously without ever slowing down for five years. It appears that the thing which makes the Lightning EFD LS and its slower cousin, the 2.5-inch EFD LB so powerful is the fact that they function under a patented ASIC design which is supported by a SCSI data transfer interface, compared with similar devices which use the more known Fibre Channel interface. This is the reason for which Pliant`s products are nowadays prone to achieve running speeds of up to 6 gigabits per second as opposed to the 4 Gb/s supported by the Fibre Channel.
Even if the 3.5-inch enterprise solid-state drive is available to be bought by the companies, the model still needs to receive some tests and testimonials and feedback about its increased speed in order to prove that the information disclosed by its producer is right.
