The new prototype from Volkswagen, Volkswagen E-Up! has been presented to the public at the Motor Show in Frankfurt. The organization took this event as an opportunity to present the concept car and also to announce a date for the E-up!`s launch. It seems that this date will be somewhere in the year 2013.

The Volkswagen Company wants the launching of its innovative car to be equal or even exceed the success that the Beetle had. This is a pertinent goal, but Volkswagen took care to bring some endowments to its car in order to gain a competitive edge against other vehicles. The Volkswagen E-Up! operates on a light 500 pound lithium-ion battery pack which enables the customer to drive for up to 130 kilometers.

The light battery can be completely recharged in no more than five hours. The new model also comprises solar panels on its roof and sun visors that accompany the lithium-ion battery in order to grant power for the electrical complex of the car.

Thanks to the willingness of Autoblog Green, interested customers can look up the new Volkswagen E-Up! on the websites and find photos of it.
