Even though Sony Computer Entertainment America encountered in the last week of August a price cut in its Play-Station 3 model to $299 for the slim 120 gigabytes unit, things changed the next period. In the starting week of September, the company managed to sale up to 300% of its Play-Station 3 hardware. Even if the organization managed to recover, this United States sales` figure is very low compared to the scores in Europe and Japan. Europe summed up a 999% increase, while Japan managed to record a staggering 7,350% increase in the total legitimate sales of Play-Station 3.

Sony Computer Entertainment America noticed that the main desires of its customers regarding Play-Station 3 compatible games. The clients desired: Gran Turismo 5, Final Fantasy XIII, God of War III, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. However, Play-Station`s 3 main competitor, Xbox 360 is a hardware compatible with some of the above mentioned games. For example, the versions of Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin`s Creed 2 scored higher than the version of the same games in the Play-Station 3 variant. However, if one computes the purchasing desire index of the customers for the top three games offered by Xbox 360 and the lower five Play-Station 3 games, they notice that the figures are almost a match.

Looking at the figures, one may wonder why Uncharted 2 did not get even in the 25 top games.
