The battle between capacitive touchscreens (such as Apple’s iPhone) and resistive touchscreens – less expensive – seems to have come to an end. And not because either of the types imposed itself on the other. It is much simpler than that. They have joined forces. How? Research in Motion has recently filed a patent of a new type of touchscreen for the future BlackBerry Storm 3. In a nutshell, they have put one screen on top of the other, thus resulting in a new two-in-one screen. If this technology will be approved, we might get an all new experience in terms of touchscreens.
