The publication claims that talks have been going on for the past half year between Verizon‘s CEO Lowell McAdam and Steve Jobs which may result in two iPhone-like terminals bound for the CDMA network.
This doesn’t really come as a surprise, but here’s the twist: one device would be a lite variant of the iPhone, and the other a 7″ display “media pad” that will enable an user to listen to music, play videos and even make phone calls via WiFi. The iPhone lite, according to BW, will be smaller and thinner than the iPhone 3G. The media pad will feature a bigger touchscreen, but will be smaller than the Kindle (Amazon).
It’s yet unclear how these potential releases will affect Apple’s present deal with AT&T, but if they are to avoid any legal implications, the devices should be significantly different from the existing handset.
The fact that one of these devices is set to be released as early as this june backs up other rumors of a new soon-to-be-released media concept.
