A new Bloomberg documentary called Game Changers, reveals that Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page had visited the Cupertino campus of Apple for a meeting with Steve Jobs and had offered him the CEO position at Google. Google’s founders are said to have interviewed about thirteen candidates in all. Finally, Brin and Page selected Eric Schmidt as CEO.
There were strong reasons to choose Eric Schmidt to lead Google. Apart his achievements in software engineering and as a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, he impressed Google’s founders by attending the hippy art festival Burning Man in Black Rock Desert, Nevada.
Bloomberg’s documentary follows Brin and Page from the meeting at Stanford through to their present position as giants of internet search, advertising and the mobile spaces.
