Meizu is supposed to be preparing another clone of an Apple device, the M9 II, already shown in teaser photos published by J. Wong, the company’s head. Meizu’s executive claims that the new iPod touch of Apple looks like the M9 II. The device created by the Chinese company has, however, a 960×480 touchscreen, a similar form and a 1GHz processor for its second revision.

According to previous reports, the touchscreen device would be powered by Android 2.2, probably with a customized user interface. Support for multi-touch gestures as well as other features commonly encountered at the latest iPod touch and iPhone 4 is also expected to be present.

It is not clear if Meizu has scrapped the plans for its first-generation of M9, which still ships to customers. The Chinese company has introduced an early clone of the iPhone, the M8, a few weeks after Apple’s official announcement. The shipping time-frame for the first-generation M9 was initially set to October.
