Nuu, the young accessory maker, has recently showed at IFA a new iPhone 4 add-on, which is expected to bring a fully integrated keyboard. The company’s Mini Key joins a protective case for Apple’s smartphone itself with a slide-out, tilting QWERTY keyboard in order to reassure those jumping from phones with physical keyboards. The new design takes advantage of iOS 4’s integrated support for keyboards; it is still unknown if it uses Bluetooth or the Dock Connector. Nuu’s peripheral benefits from its own separate battery for powering a backlight without draining the iPhone’s main power.
The company hopes to send its Mini-Key in stores before the holidays. Nuu, which is a Hong Kong-based company, seems to be planning a US launch and expects to price the add-on at about $69 for a release in the country.
