The Folio 100 tablet, previously leaked, has been confirmed by Toshiba at the IFA booth of the company. The Android 2.2-based tablet, although not having any specification, was evidently running a significantly customized front end provided with large buttons to be used for Daily Motion videos, 7’s digital music service and Flickr photos. Toshiba Places has also been mentioned, and could be either a social network or the name of its interface.

The device is ten-inch large and is supposed to have the dual-core Tegra 250 from NVIDIA. It could handle 1,080-pixel video through the HDMI output. Bluetooth, 3G and Wi-Fi would be built-in. internal storage could be smaller, in favor of SDHC cards. The device could also have a 1.3-megapixel camera on its front side and could use Opera Mobile and Flash 10.1 as the default browser rather than Google’s one.

Further and more exact details should arrive later. Toshiba has not commented on the existence of its Folio 100 Android tablet, but has mentioned the arrival of such a device by the end of this year.
