Apple’s event scheduled for September 1st may significantly focus on new music discovery in iTunes. A major component of this event may be associated with the “music discovery experience”. Other details have not been provided, but it is expected that song samples will be doubled to a full minute.

Samples have been settled on 30-second length by most stores, although Internet radio, based on Pandora’s recommendation offers excerpts one minute-long. Samples longer than 30 seconds have been subject to controversies for studios, which were concerned about incentives granted to try the rest, although fans of electronic and classical music mainly have frequently complained that 30-second clips were not enough to sample long tracks.

It is not known yet if this deal would have an industry-wide effect, also involving Amazon, or would simply limit to Apple.

Earlier information has indicated a proper web stores for iTunes, or a web presence at least, letting visitors to freely browse before needing to jump to the iTunes application.

Apple has traditionally used an event scheduled in late summer or in early fall to introduce new versions of iTunes. It also could use such an event for iTunes 10. It is still believed that cloud-services are unlikely without licenses, but the event may also center on a level of independence with wireless synchronizing of basic content and possibly media as well.

New iPods are also expected to draw significant attention during this event.
