On August 31, 2010, Microsoft has confirmed a new Xbox 360 gamepad with a trick D-pad. The new wireless controller benefits from a unique four-point pad which has the ability to change depending on preferences; the controller can work as a fully inset, disc-shaped pad and, with a twist, can turn into as cross-shaped pad for users who prefer a more precise action. Microsoft’s gamepad goes to a distinctive matte silver color, with grayscale buttons and even concave analog sticks.

Even if it wasn’t confirmed, the pad has most probably been designed for fighting game players, who may want the choice of feedback on the new D-pad to better work out certain moves.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 wireless controller will only come as part of a Play&Charge Kit, which is composed by a lithium-ion battery and a USB charging adapter. The gamepad will start hitting the shelves on November 9, under a $65 price tag.
