Napster, the digital music service, is now available for download for Samsung’s web-connected HDTVs, home theater systems and Blu-ray players directly from Samsung Apps. Users have the possibility to choose from Napster’s library of over 10 million songs and stream to the set-top boxes or TV. Napster members can also access their playlists or even tune to Napster radio stations. There are many options, including a quick-listening option that can Automix a number of specified tracks from a favorite artist. Extras include even Billboard charts dating back to 1955. Top songs and new releases are equally available; users can browse specifically for any album, artist or track.
2010 Samsung TVs sized at 40 inches and above owners, as well as 2010 Blu-ray players and home theater systems which benefit from Samsung Apps support are now able to download the application. The app is currently free of charge, but users need, however, a Napster subscription. A two-week free trial is available for those wanting to test the new service.
