On August 25, 2010, at an event in China, there has been spotted a new prototype tablet, which is capable to display 3D images without even needing 3D glasses. According to “Engadget Chinese”, the Supernova X1 was being shown off by Rockchip. Currently there is no information on the technical specs, on the exact pricing or on the release date of this new device.

A title had to be converted, while the device was playing back “Toy Story” in 3D. It is unknown how it does that, but it is known that the Supernova X1 can also play standard 2D content. Rockchip has been known for making media players processors and doesn’t often produce the players itself. Despite this, the new design can find its way both into local Chinese players and some exports.
