Several Windows Phone 7 gaming features have been recently confirmed by a Microsoft representative; these include the ability to engage in multiplayer competition between consoles and handsets. Greg Milligan, Microsoft’s Mobility Solutions Manager for Canada, suggested that the phone-to-console feature may be experienced in real-time via Wi-Fi.
Xbox integration will go beyond multiplayer gaming too; users will have the possibility of playing mini games on Windows Phone 7 handsets in order to unlock features in games on consoles. Regarding phone-to console chat, Milligan says that Microsoft currently has nothing to announce, even if, according to an “RGBFilter” interview, users will be able to view and even modify avatars directly from their handsets.
The average price range for many of the mobile games seems to be between $1.99 and $2.99; moreover, the multiplayer functionality on the mobile platform will be available with only a free Xbox Live Silver account.
