Microsoft has recently announced a time-frame for its final version of the Windows Phone 7 development kit: it will most likely be available in September. The program’s initial popularity has been also boasted by the company, because, according to a post on the Windows Phone official blog, the existing Windows Phone developer tools have already surpassed 300,000 downloads.
In order to compete with Apple’s iPhone, Microsoft has paid more attention to the platform’s gaming and application capabilities. Microsoft has recently announced a list of popular titles, including “Guitar Hero”, “Halo: Waypoint” and even “Star Wars”.
September 16 will be the date of the final developer tools release; this will allow developers to recompine their applications before early October (the Windows Phone 7 debut date).
