Ahead of the IFA tech expo, Germany’s PocketBook started the week by releasing multiple slates. The new PocketBook IQ targets at the recently surfacing crossover between tablets and reading; it carries Android 2.0, but also a seven-inch touch LCD. Moreover, it will benefit from Android applications, Wi-Fi and will have access to PocketBook’s own Bookland store; Bluetooth will also be an extra option.
The more conventional line has been updated with two e-paper readers: the ProBook 603 and 903. Both of them benefit from stylus-driven touchscreens, 2GB of storage, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for wireless. The screens differ in size, as the 603 has a more pocketable six-inch display and the 903 uses a 9.7-inch display.
Even if full launch details are yet to be available, more is expected on September 3rd, when IFA starts. PocketBook has limited sales in the USA and in other parts of Europe; it could also bring new models to several countries soon.
