According to Sonos, the company’s Controller for iPad has been recently postponed from August until the end of September. The exact cause for the delay has not been revealed, but it seems that the application is not yet fully developed and ready for a launch. The company promised though that the wait will be worthwhile; Sonos also guaranteed that the iPhone application would continue to work on iPads too.
The iPad application is somehow different from the iPhone one, as it shows some extra information on the iPad’s extra screen area. The app always shows the navigation menu, current track, as well as the dedicated playback controls; switching views introduce active rooms and existing queue from any given player. The volume can be changed both by individual device and all of them at once. The new Sonos controller will be compatible with the company’s ZonePlayer S5, Speaker Bundle 250 and any other system released until now.
