According to a Motorola post in its official forums, the expected Droid X Android 2.2 update may have been postponed with several weeks. Even if the update was programmed for launch in late August, it may be released by early September. It is still unknown if the updates will start at that point or will start earlier and finish just in this timeframe.
The new update will offer a speed boost to applications, as well as to the camera and the web; the options of Flash 10.1, Bluetooth voice dialling and the possibility of moving applications to the SD card have also been added. Original Droid owners will most likely get the 2.2 update starting this week, while the buyers of the upcoming Droid 2 may even get the 2.2 at launch time or, if not, shortly afterwards.
