On July 19, 2010, Verizon announced that the company’s V Cast Apps mobile store, for the first time, is now available for access on several BlackBerry smartphones. This store allows users to buy applications from Verizon itself with billing on their usual bills. So far, V Cast Apps can run on the Bold 9650, Storm2, Curve 8530 and Tour 9630. The original Storm and Curve 8330 will soon benefit as well from the mobile store.
V Cast Apps will be available through a linked icon for all compatible BlackBerry smartphones on Verizon’s network which are running the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS). For business clients who are using BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES), access to V Cast Apps can be obtained by contacting specialists. There is also a block feature available through My Verizon; this will be meant to remove access to the store.
