Apricorn’s line of Aegis Bio encrypted portable hard drives has recently been enlarged with the launch of a new 640GB variant. One of the most important features of Aegis Bio is the biometric authentication and encryption; this allows the user to gain access to his files just with the swipe of a finger. Moreover, the new drive allows users to store a wide range of information, including media and other important documents; files can be transferred at speeds up to 480Mbps via the built-in USB cable. There are other features too, including cross-platform support, as well as an integrated password bank, which can store usernames and passwords used for web-based applications and forms.
With the new 640GB version, the array of available hard drives has been expanded from 250GB, also including a 320GB and 500GB model. These hard drives have prices starting $120; the top Aegis Bio 640GB drive is priced at $160. All models are available for orders from the company’s website and benefit from a three-year warranty.
