Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia’s new mobile chief, recently gave hints about a future tablet powered by MeeGo. The information corroborates an earlier issued report and although Vanjoki did not get into deeper details, he said that the MeeGo platform would be very important for Nokia. According to Vanjoki, the platform is supposed to offer a generous application development environment as well as support for GPS and Bluetooth.

The MeeGo platform is co-developed by Nokia and Intel. Google Chrome is integrated into the platform, but it is possible that users opt to utilize other browsers too. Intel is supposed to develop its own tablets powered by MeeGo and equipped with Atom processors. Meantime, rumors say that Nokia is making an ARM-based 9-inch tablet which uses MeeGo software.
