Sony has recently fulfilled its earlier promises, posting an ALPHA NEX-3 and NEX-5 compact, interchangeable lens cameras update. The new firmware adds a 3D Sweep Panorama mode, which automatically creates a 3D scenery image by simply comparing the depth across a burst of images. Pictures taken can be displayed on any 3D TV and, most probably, on other displays able to recognize 3D standards too.
Photographers also get some extra improvements, which include upgrades to the standard 2D Sweep Panorama mode. Both NEX cameras should be able to start faster in low light conditions and should as well lose less power when turned off.
The new downloads are applicable to any camera which already has the original 01 firmware. Newer variants of the camera which have version 02 installed will benefit from the new features and fixes when purchased.
