On June 28, 2010, Google started releasing the promised Android 2.2 final version to all the American Nexus One models, available at AT&T and T-Mobile. The FRF85B build seems to be the first version to reach phones before the early test releases; moreover, it will be the first widely available variant able to handle Flash 10.1. The upgrade also offers faster performance, tethering, Wi-Fi hotspot support and automatic updating.
Android 2.2 will start shipping on other devices in the future; this includes all HTC phones manufactured in 2010, the Motorola Droid, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S line. Updates will most probably be available for these devices over the course of the next weeks or even months, because the majority of these phones use custom UIs.
