An iPhone 4 owner who received the phone early and managed to get it activated with AT&T has posted some test material containing photos and video taken with the phone’s camera. The samples illustrate the very high-resolution display and give a more exact impression of the quality of the image. Photos made with the camera demonstrate that its behavior is still that of a point-and-shoot outdoors, with the risk of blown-out highlights. It also indicates that the flash is working without being over-bright as it happens on other phones, the HTC Evo 4G being one of them.

As for video samples, the phone provides high quality footage at 720 pixels. Some phones sacrifice the bitrate in order to get high definition, which is not the case of the iPhone 4, as there is no blockiness, blurring or hitching frames. The phone is capable of recording vertical high definition video while being held upright. Most of the other phones require shooting in landscape mode in order to reach the full resolution. Otherwise, they will shoot an identical aspect ratio no matter how they are held.

Apart these samples, another early owner of an iPhone 4 has posted a video showing the unpacking of the phone just to provide an idea of the device and to be able to compare it to the existing device.
