Orders for iPhone 4 ready to be shipped

The iPhone 4 pre-orders have been moved into a new status, which is “prepared for shipment”. This happens ahead of the schedule Apple had.

The new stage is the first one before the devices leave China to reach other countries and would result in on time delivery of at least some part of the orders. Apple is known as having early deliveries on occasions, but also to hold orders back in order to keep the chronology of the orders and avoid sending the first batch before the day intended for launch.

The challenge for the iPhone 4 shipping is significant as more than 600,000 pre-orders have been recorded worldwide. This does neither include the supply for the in-store reservations nor impulse purchases.
