More details regarding the Galaxy Tab of Samsung have been provided by anonymous sources. According to some information released by Engadget, the model number P1000 is the four-button device that has been seen recently in a video material.
The tablet has roughly the same thickness an iPhone has. A standard SIM slot accompanies full functionality as a phone, with a speakerphone or Bluetooth headset. Connectivity is provided via Bluetooth, GPS, 3G or Wi-Fi. It can tether over Wi-Fi or USB. The Galaxy Tab seems to run an Android 2.2 stock version.
The device is expected to have a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor and an internal memory of16GB and microSDHC expansion up to 32GB. The touchscreen is a seven-inch Super AMOLED display and the battery has a 4,000mAh capacity. According to the sources, the device has a 3.2-megapixel camera and is also equipped with another front-facing camera which can be used for video calling. The Galaxy Tab will come with an e-book reader application holding magazine content.
The new Samsung device is expected to ship this summer, the possible releasing date being sometime in August.
