A new Android-based smartphones-dedicated Kobo application has been released by Borders; the app allows the reading of all of Border’s electronic books and is considered to be a mobile complement to Kobo’s eReader. To what the iPhone app and other ports are concerned, there is a login which allows the software bookmark where the reader left off, no matter if they switch the device used to read an e-book.
Thanks to the new app, books can be searched by title, author, topic or keyword. Readers are able to browse NYT Bestsellers or even Oprah’s Picks. Moreover, libraries can be sorted into practical book cover or aesthetical shelf view displays.
The Kobo application is already available for iPhones and iPads, but also for BlackBerries and Palm Pres. Even if e-books vary in price, the application can be downloaded for free from the Android Market.
