Some of the questions regarding Logitech’s Google TV box have recently received an answer, thanks to the post of an official Revue product page. Even if the company hasn’t yet provided much information, it has, however, explained that the name choice intends to illustrate the multi-purpose nature of the new Android-based add-on. It is already known that the set-top can do the same things a Harmony remote or a Squeezebox can. The gear maker also said that the name should reflect some sort of multi-act performance, similar to a revue.
Logitech’s Revue will start shipping in late 2010; it will add Google’s TV web and TV integration, as well as control over home theater devices and the possibility of piping music from local Wi-Fi networks through the TV’s sound system. The manufacturer is currently working on some companion Android and iPhone applications, which will serve as advanced remotes.
