Motorola has brought the Milestone XT720, a MOTOROI direct export, to the West.

This is its most advanced touch-only device and sports an upgraded 8-megapixel camera which is fast enough to support 720-pixel video recording as well as playback. The phone also has Motoblur and is upgraded to Android 2.1. The 3.7-inch screen has an 854×480 resolution.

Some extras are added compared to the original Droid. Full-resolution playback of video content is provided by an HDMI video output. There is also a strip of dedicated controls for the camera on the side meant to replace the single button present on the 2009 QWERTY slider.

The phone will reach Europe next month. It will ship through third-party resellers like Data Select in the United Kingdom and the North of the continent. A close port is supposed to ship to T-Mobile in the United States. Its spiritual successor will be the Droid Xtreme. This one would be much faster and is expected to have a different version of Motoblur.
