Verizon has announced its customers of the LG Ally that the ship date of the phone had to be pushed back with exactly one week. Information from e-mails and a spokesperson said the new Android device was sent back the same day it was scheduled to be shipped. No explanation has been offered for this setback, but such actions are not unusual and are due to minor software or supply fixes.
The price of the LG Ally is $100 with a contract. It is the second Android 2.1 in Verizon’s network after the Droid Incredible. The phone has a keyboard, a lightly customized interface and 802.11n Wi-Fi. The processor is slightly slower and the LCD is smaller. These together with the 3.2-megapixel camera make the price lower than for Verizon’s flagship. HTC’s device has a 1GHz Snapragon processor and an AMOLED screen.
