The Inspiron M301z is the new notebook PC Dell is currently shipping in Singapore. It is its first device to feature the dual-core Athlon II Neo from AMD. The standard M301z is a 13.3-inch notebook with a 1.3GHz processor and an option for a 1.5GHz Neo as well, and with 2GB up to 4GB of RAM. Graphics provided by the integrated Mobility Radeon HD 4225 chipset gives the notebook relatively fast 3D.
Storage is represented by a 320GB and 7,200RPM hard drive that comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit preloaded. The six-cell battery is meant to provide five hours of continuous use. The equivalent price of the M301z notebook is around $715. Although a US release date is still unknown, it is likely to be unveiled very soon.

The big question: How long will Intel allow Dell, HP, Acer to boldly introduce new AMD products without verbal threats of delayed chip shipments or revoked “marketing funds”? All these new AMD-based products from the large manufacturers will disappear the moment Otellini resumes Intel’s monopolistic/illegal market manipulations.
