Dell has expanded its website with a new page meant to present the upcoming notebooks equipped with AMD’s quad-core Phenom II X4 processors. Thus, the new Inspiron M501R notebook is powered by AMD’s M880G chipset and has integrated Radeon HD4250 graphics. Users have the option of adding Radeon HD550v discrete graphics components with an amount of 1GB of memory.

The Inspiron has a 15.6-inch display with LED backlighting and 720-pixel resolution. Hard drive capacities up to 640GB and DDR3 RAM up to 8GB are supported in various configurations, as well as operating systems like Windows Vista and Windows 7. The whole is powered by a six- or nine-cell battery. The company has to list average run times on the system. Information about the price of the Inspiron M501R notebook is also unknown by now. The notebooks will be available in four different colors and will have a brush finish.

Intel will probably increase the amount of money paid to Dell to sell only a set percentage of AMD based products. The AMD Inspiron page will disappear within days.
