Nokia introduced two new handsets for China Mobile, the TD-SCDMA phones C5 and X5. Both support native 3G on China Mobile and have access to the Mobile Market-Ovi Store. They also feature preloaded video, music and IM applications that are specific to the region they are sold in.
The Nokia X5 is not a full touchscreen handset as it was presumed. It is a conventional candybar design still sporting the Symbian OS. It has a 2.4-inch display with 240×320 resolution and a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, capable to record video. There is no Ovi Maps included but it comes with a proprietary application instead. The handset will launch later this spring in China and will be available in white, black or red colours.
The Nokia C5 is closer to entry-level devices, although it sports the same display and camera as the X5. The C5 is available in black or silver and has less preloaded applications that include only Fetion IM and 139 mailbox for e-mail. The Nokia C5 will also ship this spring, but its price has not been announced yet.
