A Chinese firm has copied the basic design of the iPad. The device uses Android as its operating system and is equipped with a dual-core Rockchip processor. The APad, as it is called, has between 2GB and 32GB of built-in flash memory, according to the model, and its RAM has only 128MB. A supplementary storage space of 16GB can be added through a TF card slot.

The device has a 7-inch touchscreen with an 800×400 resolution and Wi-Fi built-in. Google browser and Google Maps come preloaded. Support is provided for common video files, such as MKV, as well as photos and music. A built-in accelerometer is available too.

The APad is priced at $210. Such clones are common in china, but they are rarely successful on other markets, mainly due to eventual legal consequences.
