According to a public announcement of Sony Ericsson and an unofficial report from a cell phone website based in the United Kingdom, the XPERIA X10 will have Android 2.1 and multi-touch support and will appear in the second half of this year. The release is expected for September and is far enough to make the update insufficiently attractive to lure buyers away from handsets like the HTC Incredible and HTC Evo 4G, both of them having similar specifications to the XPERIA X10, but sporting larger screens or more recent software.
The X10 should be launched by end of April and is equipped with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm and a 4-inch touchscreen. The operating system should be either Android 1.6 or 2.0.
