ASUS brings one of the more advanced ultraportables 13-inch sized. The U30Jc is the first device to combine the power of the Core i3 processor with the Optimus graphics switching of NVIDIA and provides both performance and battery life at the same time. The 2.26GHz Core i3 and GeForce 310M chipset combined allow users to run modern 3D games and high definition video while still providing 9.5 hours of battery life, as it switches to Intel’s video while on battery.
The system also plays the role of a home theatre with an HDMI output and Altec Lansing-made speakers. It is one of the thinnest systems with optical storage and, despite its size, it features an internal DVD drive.
There is only one core configuration available for the base model, with 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive, at the price of $899. ASUS is already selling the U30Jc through Amazon and claims immediate shipping for the new notebook.
