Acer may soon release the so long awaited version of the company’s 11.6-inch Timeline notebook with an Intel Core i5 CPU. The new portable, called the 1830T, retains, from its predecessor, a display resolution of 1366×768, the full size keyboard, as well as a similar weight. This new variant is a little thinner than the CULV-powered models and also gets a new color. Design changes are insignificant. Its processor is a dual-core i5-520UM, with a 1.06GHz clock speed, which can be upgraded to 1.86GHz, thanks to Intel’s Turbo Boost technology.
The notebook benefits from an Intel CPU-integrated graphics chipset and Intel’s HM55. The 1830T will also offer Wi-Fi, two memory card slots, an HDMI port, optical audio, gigabit Ethernet and three USB 2.0 ports. The HDD capacities are yet to be known; Bluetooth 2.1 and a 3G radio are optional, while the battery is expected to offer up to eight hours of power.
The prices and the official release dates for the Timeline 1830T have not yet been announced, but are expected to be available in late March.
