Sony UK has recently announced that the VAIO M netbook will be officially launched soon in the local market. Sony has mentioned that the company’s new netbook will be available both in white and black and that it will weight 3.1lbs (a little more than expected). The six-cell battery should offer almost eight hours of life for the VAIO M.

Some specifications have also been confirmed: the 10.1-inch, LED-backlit display, a 250GB HDD (with a preinstalled version of Windows 7 Starter Edition), a 1.66GHz N450 Atom processor, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Into the screen’s bezel, there is a built-in Motion Eye camera. The netbook also benefits from three USB ports, a VGA output, Ethernet jack and a microSD memory card slot.

Even if Sony has not yet mentioned the pricing, it has said that the new netbook will be released to UK stores sometime by the end of March and that an American launch will most likely follow.
