Dell seems to have restored the company’s Vostro notebooks, with significant design and speed upgrades.

The new 3000 series has an aluminum shells housing and sturdier hinges. The colour is now more common, while bronze, red or silver come as an option. All the systems in the series get processor upgrades, offering Core i3 or i5 processors to the 13-inch Vostro 3300 and 14-inch 3400; the 17-inch 3700 gets Core i7 choices, with quad-core chips.

Each system can benefit from up to 6GB of RAM, DVD burning, a 500GB HDD and an extended 9-cell battery as well. Dell has been focusing on dedicated graphics: the two smaller systems can benefit, as an option, from an entry GeForce 310M, while the desktop replacement-class 3700 can get a mid-range GeForce GT 330M.

The new Vostros’ prices are yet to be known, but may be unveiled on March 9th in the US and March 16th in the other countries.
